TANKERS Mediterranean rates remain steady with a fair amount of inquiry and with Black Sea voyages and cross-Mediterranean at W/S 187.5 and W/S 175, respectively. – North Sea still weak with prompt tonnage looking for Mediterranean and even Black Sea cargoes while the 100,000 tons out of Baltic are still fixed at W/S 130. – Caribbean is quiet due to Independence day in the USA. – Suezmaxes steady with West Africa at W/S 120 for the 130,000 tons of cargoes while on Vlccs cssa for 260,000 tons of cargo loading July 27 discharging US Gulf/UKC-Mediterranean, has fixed M/T Golden Victory at W/S 82.5 – 85 and 87.5, respectively. – On Aframax in the Mediterranean, Lukoil for 80,000 tons of cargo loading July 12 Russia discharging Mediterranean, has fixed M/T Kareela Spirit at W/S 180. – In the Continent, Chevron for 80,000 tons of cargo loading July 11 UK discharging UKC has fixed M/T Sarpen at W/S 120. DRYCARGO The Capers are holding their own in the Atlantic with much more business been quoted. However, most of the cargoes are destined for the Far East. – Transfield has fixed M/V Quorn 179,869 dwt, delivery Passero beg. July trip via Brazil redelivery Far East at USD 48,000 daily. – In the East M/V Maria A. Angelicoussi 169,163 dwt, built 2001, delivery China beginning July trip via West Coast Canada redelivery Japan was fixed at USD 22,000 daily. – On Panamaxes market remains quiet in the Atlantic with a number of vessels in ballast looking for cover out of South America. – There is a report that an lme type has been fixed for a transatlantic voyage at USD 18,350 daily while Panocean has fixed M/V Pole 73,048 dwt, built 1997, for delivery Passero trip via Brazil redelivery Far East, at USD 25,000 daily. – On Panamax in Far East Mosk has fixed M/V Jupiter Applause 69,123 dwt, built 1997, delivery July 20-25 China for 8-10 months trading at USD 20,000 daily. – In the Atlantic Azure has fixed M/V Danae 75,300 dwt, built 2005, delivery Netherlands beginning July trip via East Coast S. America redelivery UKC, at USD 19,000 daily. – On smaller sizes, Emr has fixed M/V Tolhuaca 42,000 dwt, built 1985, delivery July 7-13 at Rotterdam trip via UKC and redelivery East Mediterranean, at USD 23,000 daily. – On coal cargoes, Ilva for 120,000 tons of cargo loading in Australia July 20-20 and discharging Italy has fixed M/V Luciana Della Gatta at USD 15.00 per ton with 40,000 tons load and 30,000 tons discharge.
