Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis talks…

Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis talks with the finance minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hamdan bin Rashid al-Maktum, in Abu Dhabi yesterday. Bakoyannis headed a large Greek business delegation on a two-day visit to the UAE, which ended with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Association of Exporters of Northern Greece and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Speaking at a bilateral business forum, she said Greece ‘welcomes investment from the UAE,’ noting the strong interest expressed lately in the Greek banking and port sectors. Bakoyannis said Greece is developing into ‘the regional center of a market of 250 million consumers in the Balkans, the Black Sea and the eastern Mediterranean, where a network of 3,600 Greek businesses operates.’
