TANKERS Aframax market at steady levels with Med. remaining stronger than those of Caribs and Cont. – In the Cont. we have seen levels as low as W/S 90 for the 80,000 tons of cargo. Gunvor has fixed M/T «Apageon» loading April 16 Latvia discharging UKC at same levels, while BHP has fixed M/T «Nordic Svenita» for 80,000 tons of cargo loading April 10 UK discharging UKC at W/S 95. – Caribs still at W/S 107,5 for the 70,000 tons cargo liftings while Exxonmobil for same sized cargo loading April 12 East Coast Mexico discharging US Gulf has fixed M/T «Eurydice» at W/S 112.5. – W. Africa on Suezmaxes with more cargoes thus rates gradually improving. Sun and Emerald with end April loading have fixed at W/S 77.5 with destination USAC. – In the Med. Naftex has fixed M/T «Missouri» for 80,000 tons of cargo loading April 9 Russia discharging Med. at W/S 105. – In Caribs BP for 70,000 tons of cargo loading April 15 discharging US Gulf has fixed M/T «Moscow Kremlin» at W/S 107.5. DRY CARGO The market appears steady on Capers, with Ilva for 120,000 tons of coal loading Australia end April – beg. May discharging Italy having fixed at USD 10.25 per ton with 40,000 tons load and 30,000 tons discharge, while Noble has fixed M/V «Lady Kadoorie» for 150,000 tons of ore loading Brazil April 13-23 discharging China at USD 7.40 per ton with 2 days load and 30,000 tons discharge. – The Panamaxes in the East are having a rough time with HMM, having fixed M/V «Rubin Peony» 69,000 dwt, built 1997, delivery China April 1-10 redelivery S. Korea at USD 6,500 daily. – Atlantic seems steady with owners putting their hopes on the S. American market. – Handymax market continues to be exciting. Panocean with delivery Canakkale (Turkey) trip via Black Sea redelivery Far East has fixed a 45,000 dwt, at USD 11,000 daily. – In Atlantic, Oaks has fixed M/V «Galene» 73,500 dwt, built 1995, delivery April 10-15 Spain for 3-5 months period at USD 8,200 daily.
