BA passengers pick Athens
Athens is one of the most popular destinations among British tourists, according to data on travelers’ preferences published by British Airways. BA is expected to carry 3 million passengers this month, with over half of them choosing a destination in Europe. Paris, Rome, Nice, Madrid, Barcelona and Athens are the most popular destinations, with the Greek capital chosen for its sunshine and warm climate. «Athens is once again among the most popular places to visit and BA is an obvious choice for their trip,» said British Airways. The airline’s bookings for long-haul flights have increased by 20 percent from August last year, mainly due to the predominantly rainy conditions in the UK this summer. The US remains top of Britons’ preferences, with New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston as well as Hong Kong in Asia being the most preferred long-distance destinations.
