Bucharest in line

Romania’s government budget is unlikely to exceed the European Union’s ceiling of 3 percent of gross domestic product next year, Economy and Finance Minister Varujan Vosganian said yesterday. «Pension hikes will not affect the deficit… Increased requests from education, health, the research and defense sectors will not affect the 3 percent limit,» Vosganian told local private television station The Money Channel. «If we will have the chance to continue implementing our budgetary philosophy I am convinced there will not be such an occurrence next year,» added the Romanian finance minister.
