After six years of absence, Zonar’s cafe-restaurant returned last Wednesday to Athens’s city center, on Panepistimiou Street, next to the Attica department store. Carlos Zonaras, a Greek American who imported fresh pastry ideas from Chicago, first opened the bistro in 1934. It now is fully revamped and has already met the approval of a huge number of visitors. It is operated by the Everest snack foods chain.
