Kathimerini 2007 profit sharply up

Kathimerini publishing group yesterday reported a 42.1 percent rise in net 2007 profits, to 7.8 million euros. Turnover was up 25.9 percent, to -133.5 million. Parent company Kathi-merini newspaper recorded a 51 percent rise in net profits, to -6.7 million, on a 27.5 percent increase in turnover, to -117.8 million. Kathimerini on Sunday upped its circulation to an average of 176,800 copies, with a 15.3 percent share in the Sunday press, while the daily edition remained in top position with 33,400 copies, or a 55.2 percent market share. The company is currently implementing a -20.1 million investment program, mainly in state-of-the-art printing equipment.
