Vietnamese business ties

Vietnam’s President Nguyen Minh Triet addresses a Greek-Vietnamese business forum in Athens yesterday. Development Minister Christos Folias met with Triet where the minister proposed setting up a Greek-Vietnamese business council to help develop business ties between the two nations. The president of Vietnam said his country is in the process of opening an embassy in Athens in move that will help to bring the two countries closer together. Meanwhile, Greek lottery systems supplier Intralot said yesterday it had clinched a deal with Vietnam’s largest lottery to establish a foothold in the rapidly developing Asian country. Intralot, the world’s second-largest lottery systems supplier, will upgrade the systems of the Ho Chi Minh City lottery. The Vietnamese lottery had a turnover of $140 million in 2007.
