Staff hiring plans slip a notch

The majority of Greek businesses plan to go ahead with staff hirings in the next six months but to a lesser extent than in the first half of the year, according to survey results made public yesterday. The survey, carried out by business school Alba, showed a drop in the recruitment confidence index (RCI), which is a measure of business expectations in recruitment activity and business conditions. «One in two businesses in Greece will increase their staff numbers, while one in three will not go ahead with any hirings in the coming six months,» Alba said in a statement. Companies are expected to proceed with hirings in sales, customer service, information technology, marketing and accounting. «All fields of recruitment showed a drop in comparison with the previous year apart from the information sector, which gradually appears to be the most popular,» the survey said.
