Hutchison wins OLTH port tender

Thessaloniki Port Authority, the operator of Greece’s second-largest port, named a joint venture of Hutchison Port Holdings, HPI Sarl and Alapis Holdings SA as the provisional winner of a tender to run container operations at the harbor. The Hutchison-led group outbid Cosco Pacific Ltd and a venture that included P&O of DP World Ltd, Hellenic Technodomiki’s Aktor unit and Piraeus Bank, the Thessaloniki-based company said in a bourse filing. The venture bid an estimated 3.51 billion euros ($5.5 billion) for the 30-year contract, according to the port operator. Last month, Cosco Pacific Ltd, Asia’s third-largest container terminal operator, was named the provisional winner of a tender to run the container operations at the port of Piraeus, Greece’s largest.
