The Tourism Development Ministry has upgraded the cruise passenger station of the Piraeus Port Authority at Akti Xaveriou so that it also hosts the advertising campaign for ecotouristic routes. This program, partly funded by the European Union, concerns popular destinations such as Santorini, Ancient Olympia and Alonnisos. The creative revamping of the station is considered a significant move, as more than 1.5 million cruise passengers visit the port of Piraeus each year.
