Shares retreat below 3,300 pts
Greek stocks gave up 1.71 percent yesterday, falling below the 3,300 points mark, in line with a retreat on European bourses. The Athens Exchange’s (ATHEX) benchmark general index ended the session at 3,287.93 points. Among the shares to show the heaviest losses were those of Alpha Bank, which shed 5.54 percent to 17.74 euros. OTE Telecom also slumped 3.01 percent to 12.90 euros, its lowest point in 44 months, according to analysts. Frigoglass was among the few bright spots on the bourse, jumping more than five percent. A total of 69 shares rose versus 141 that ended in the red with 55 stocks unchanged. Turnover reached 161.2 million euros versus 165 million in the previous session.
