Stocks fall in mixed session

Greek stocks retreated 0.41 percent yesterday in a mixed session with the Athens Exchange’s benchmark general index closing at 3,312.55 points. National Bank, the country’s largest lender, reversed mid-session losses to end up 0.07 percent at 29.72 euros. Piraeus Bank was among the underperformers, sliding 3.67 percent to 17.34 euros. Hellenic Exchanges, the holding group that operates the Athens bourse, took steep losses, falling 3.57 percent to 7.02 euros. The FTSE/ATHEX 20 blue chip index shed 0.46 percent while the FTSE/ATHEX small-cap index advanced 0.75 percent. Losers beat winners 100 to 97 with 68 shares unchanged. Turnover reached 163 million euros versus 151 million euros in the previous session.
