PASOK leader visits fire-hit areas of Ileia

PASOK leader George Papandreou (third from left) met yesterday with residents from the region of Ileia, in the Peloponnese, which was ravaged by fires last summer. Meanwhile, the Economy and Finance Ministry announced yesterday that businesses from the area of Magnesia, central Greece, which were also victims of last year’s fires can qualify for government-backed financial benefits, such as subsidized loans for between five and 10 years. Businesses that are based or operate in the fire-stricken areas can apply for the benefits, according to the ministry.
