Data indicate sales of new homes dropping off

Buying interest in newly built homes is dropping off despite recent price decreases, as a large number of customers show a preference for cheaper, older buildings, according to real estate firm RE/MAX. In the first eight months of the year, one in two homes purchased was over 20 years old, according to data presented by the company. The most popular home size was between 71 and 90 square meters with the 91- to 110-square-meter residential property group coming second on the list, the company added.
