A third day of gains for stocks

Stocks posted gains for the third day in a row yesterday on the Greek bourse, helping its main index climb above the key level of 2,000 points. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 2,009.99 points, growing by 2.04 percent. The total gains of the last three sessions come to 16.29 percent. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index grew by 1.94 percent to end at 1,090.75 points. The biggest rise among blue chips was for the stock of Coca-Cola HBC (up 7.37 percent), followed by Hellenic Petroleum (5.07 percent), National Bank (4.71 percent), ATEbank (3.95 percent), Motor Oil (3.42 percent), OTE telecom (3.27 percent) and Public Power Corporation (3.26 percent). Worst off were OPAP (down 3.55 percent) and Hellenic Postbank (2.38 percent). Turnover reached 237.5 million euros.
