Gains recorded for most stocks
The positive atmosphere returned to the Greek bourse after a brief correction yesterday morning, with most stocks eventually posting further gains for the fourth session in succession. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 2,060.31 points yesterday, earning 2.50 percent. It ended the month with losses of 27.87 percent. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index grew by 1.81 percent to end at 1,110.51 points. The biggest gainers among blue chips were the stocks of Hellenic Petroleum (up 11.72 percent), Marfin Investment Group (7.55 percent), Motor Oil (7.38 percent), Coca-Cola HBC (6.86 percent) and National Bank (4.01 percent). All sectoral indices registered gains yesterday with the exception of travel and entertainment stocks. Turnover reached 250.9 million euros.
