Mixed session with little action

Wednesday saw only marginal moves for most equities in the last session before the Christmas vacation. Most stocks went up but the main index declined. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index came to 1,722.76 points yesterday, dropping by 0.05 percent from Tuesday’s closure. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index grew by 0.20 percent to 887.92 points, but mid-caps fell by 0.13 percent. The biggest gains on the day were for the blue chips of Hellaktor (up 5.70 percent), Hellenic Postbank (3.56 percent), Mytilineos (3.08 percent) and Public Power Corporation (3 percent). Headed south were the blue chips of Coca-Cola (down 3.85 percent), Titan cement (1.66 percent) and Viohalco (1.46 percent). Turnover reached 41.1 million euros, by far the lowest of the year.
