Stylianidis is optimistic on Olympic sale

Transport Minister Evripidis Stylianidis (center) expressed his optimism yesterday about the privatization process of Olympic Airlines, noting that there are some ongoing developments, but he did not elaborate on the comment. Speaking at a press conference, he reiterated that the procedure remains open and the way the negotiations are taking place is absolutely compatible with European Union requirements, before adding that Greece has already submitted a request to the European Commission to extend the process of privatization. It is awaiting the response from Brussels, the minister said. He also referred to the main pillars of his policy at the ministry, stressing that Greece must work to become an international transit and telecommunications hub in Southeastern Europe.
