Three-session run fizzles out

The Athens bourse ended unchanged yesterday as moderate profit-taking ended the market’s three-session winning streak. The Athens Exchange’s general index closed at 1,584.10 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index fell by 0.14 percent to close at 782.19 points. Alpha Bank lost 3.13 percent to reach 4.03 euros and Bank of Cyprus gave up 2.04 percent, closing at 1.92 euros. Betting company OPAP advanced 0.20 percent to 19.60 euros after its fourth-quarter figures fell short of market expectations. OTE telecom added 0.72 percent to 11.16 euros and Public Power Corporation (PPC) rose 0.33 percent to 12.34 euros. Turnover reached 107 million euros versus 85.7 million euros in the previous session.
