Healthy stock rise continues

Stocks posted a fresh rise in yesterday’s bourse session, ending the week on a high that reversed all losses incurred over the past three weeks. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index climbed to 1,647.88 points yesterday, rising by 1.54 percent from Thursday’s close. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index rose by 2.16 percent to close at 824.01 points. The highest gains were for the blue chips of Marfin Investment Group (up 6.52 percent), Titan cement (5.75 percent), Hellenic Petroleum (4.43 percent), Viohalco (3.96 percent), Mytilineos (3.80 percent) and OPAP (3.65 percent). Bottler Coca-Cola Hellenic announced yesterday it will propose a dividend of 0.28 euros per share at its general shareholders’ meeting in June. Turnover reached the – particularly high for Friday – level of 150.5 million euros.
