Blue chips set to show Q1 figures
First-quarter earnings from some of Greece’s largest blue chips this week are likely to draw the attention of investors as they take positions on whether the market will be able to add to recent gains. Hellenic Exchanges, the holding group that operates the Athens bourse, is scheduled to release first-quarter figures today. Coca-Cola Hellenic, the world’s second-largest bottler of Coke products, and OTE telecom are both expected to unveil first-quarter profit figures on Thursday. The Athens bourse finished April on a high note on Thursday, adding 3.18 percent to reach 2,053.74 points. The bourse added almost 22 percent in April, its best monthly performance in 10 years.
