Losses trimmed by session’s end

Greek stocks ended marginally in the red yesterday, as weak blue chips offset gains in small- and mid-cap shares. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index eased 0.06 percent to 2,278.78 points after trimming mid-session losses of some 1 percent. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index eased 0.58 percent to close at 1,179.23 points. OTE telecom leapt 4.01 percent to 11.68 euros and Public Power Corporation added 1.04 percent to 15.59 euros. Bank of Cyprus underperformed, falling 6.56 percent to 4.13 euros. The mid-cap FTSE/ATHEX 40 index advanced 1.73 percent and the small-cap FTSE/ATHEX 80 index jumped 3.33 percent. Turnover reached 163.5 million euros versus 301 million euros in Friday’s session.
