Stocks up 2.4 pct in wide gains

Greek stocks added almost 2.5 percent yesterday on across-the-board gains as banks outperformed. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index rose 2.43 percent to 2,376.11 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index moved ahead 2.91 percent to end up at 1,216.72 points. National Bank jumped 5.65 percent to 20.20 euros, while Public Power Corporation fell 3.50 percent to 15.15 euros. The FTSE/ATHEX 40 mid-cap index gained 3.73 percent and the FTSE/ATHEX 80 small-cap index ended up at 2 percent. Media group Imako was among the big winners for the day, adding 10.38 percent to 1.17 euros. Turnover reached 230.6 million euros versus 224 million previously.
