Rail link with Russia to get on track

Transport Minister Evripidis Stylianidis (photo left) spoke yesterday about the creation of a commercial rail route linking Greece and Russia in order to facilitate trade relations and transactions between the two countries. Speaking at the general meeting of the Exporters’ Association of Northern Greece, the minister explained that he will soon be able to announce in more detail the plan for the rail link with Russia. In reference to the route across northern Greece, dubbed the Egnatia Railway, Stylianidis said that its 700 kilometers will add to the rail map several key cities and ports of the region, including Kavala, while linking the rail network with industrial areas, trade centers and international highways.
