Athens bourse slips 0.12 pct

Greek stocks ended marginally lower yesterday on across-the-board losses, underperforming major European bourses. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index slipped 0.12 percent to 2,160.73 points after spending the session in a narrow 25-point range. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index retreated 0.24 percent to 1,088.94 points. Pharmaceutical company Alapis tumbled 5.26 percent to 0.90 euros. Bloomberg reported the Gerolymatos family is selling a 30-million-share stake in Alapis. The shares are being placed at 93 cents apiece. Among the winners was Alpha Bank, which gained 2.60 percent to 7.50 euros. Turnover reached 114.4 million euros versus 81.9 million in the previous session.
