Watchdog slaps more fines on gyms, slimming centers

The newly created Market Monitoring Agency (YPEA) imposed its first fines on fitness and slimming centers yesterday. After completing its inspections, YPEA has imposed fines of 152,500 euros in total on the companies Prinos, Evexia, Silhouette and Bodyline, due to a series of violations including failure to clearly state the services on offer on their price lists. Their cases have now been forwarded to the General Secretariat for Consumers for further monitoring should there be any more violations. This is the second time within the past few days that a Development Ministry agency has imposed fines on slimming centers, after other penalties totaling 223,500 euros were imposed last week on 12 such enterprises.
