Help line for consumers on bank products

Development Minister Costis Hatzidakis enters the room designated for his press conference yesterday, during which he announced the creation of a special service in support of bank product consumers. The new service, which will operate within the framework of the General Secretariat for Consumers, will have its own telephone center to record questions, complaints and problems submitted by consumers on credit market issues. It will also chart the banking products on offer, provide consulting support for the optimum choice of a loan, basic legal support for the solution of various problems as well as information to consumers about their rights. This service is scheduled to start operating in 2010, and is partly funded by the European Union.
