All EYATH suitors get gov’t clearance

The government’s ministerial privatization committee approved all three parties that have expressed an interest in becoming strategic investors at the Thessaloniki Water and Sewerage Company (EYATH). The listed water company will have the following suitors: Aqualia from Spain (51 percent) with GEK Terna from Greece (49 percent), Suez Environnement from France (60 percent) with Hellaktor from Greece (40 percent), and Veolia Eau from France (51 percent) with Marfin Investment Group (44 percent) and Ionios (5 percent) from Greece. Binding offers must be submitted in the next month, with the government trying to finish the process as soon as possible.
