Volatile session follows decline
After Thursday’s drop, the Greek bourse had a somewhat volatile session yesterday that eventually saw the majority of stocks end the day with some gains. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index reached 2,425.23 points yesterday, growing by 0.46 percent over Thursday’s closure. The blue-chip FTSE ATHEX 20 index expanded by 0.29 percent to end higher at 1,279.53 points. The biggest rise among blue chips was that of Intralot (up 5.83 percent), followed by OTE telecom (4.36 percent), Viohalco (3.35 percent) and Titan cement (2.26 percent). The greatest losses were for the stocks of Alpha Bank (down 3.20 percent) and National Bank (1.76 percent). Turnover came to 194.3 million euros, down from 375 million euros on Thursday.
