Greek shares slip marginally

Late-session buying helped to trim losses on the Athens bourse yesterday as the market ended marginally in negative territory. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index eased 0.10 percent to 2,894.15 points after losing more than 1 percent in mid-session trade. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index ended 0.01 percent in the red at 1,558.88 points. Hellenic Postbank (TT) and ATEbank, both of whose shares outperformed earlier in the week on merger rumors, underperformed. TT lost 4.18 percent to 5.27 euros and ATEbank slipped 3.74 percent to 2.06 euros. On the upside, Coca-Cola Hellenic jumped 4.09 percent to 18.84 euros. Turnover reached 415.1 million euros, versus 437 million in the previous session.
