OTE’s ADSL clients surpass million mark

OTE telecom announced yesterday it has surpassed the 1 million mark in subscribers to its ADSL service for broadband Internet, with Greece edging ever closer to the European average rate of penetration. With Conn-X being its main brand, OTE has managed to become the dominant force in the local broadband Internet market offering quality and stability, OTE stated. Meanwhile, market prices have continued to fall since the introduction of ADSL to Greece in 2004. Today the cost of OTE’s ADSL service is just 1.16 euros per megabyte per second (Mbps). The drop in prices ranks Greece in the top 10 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in the price per Mbps in relation to purchasing power.
