Cont. seems more active on Suezmax while in the Med. Erg/Chevron/Noc and others have cargoes with early October loading dates, although market is still at W/S 140. -Caribs appears quieter and the Suezmaxes out of W. Africa are at steady levels. The 130,000 tons of cargoes are fixed at W/S 95 with destination States. -In the Med. Slovneft has fixed M/T Valbruna for 80,000 tons of cargo loading Oct. 10 Syria discharging Med. at W/S 140. -In the Continent and on Suezmax BP for 135,000 tons of cargo loading Sept. 29 UK discharging US Gulf has fixed M/T Shravan at W/S 90. -In Caribs Blanchard for 70,000 tons of cargo loading Oct. 1 East Coast Mexico discharging US Gulf has fixed M/T Hudson Spirit at W/S 147.5. DRY CARGO Atlantic Capers seems to be viewing a comparatively steady market with their index maintaining 1169 points. It appears that there is a healthy balance between orders and available tonnage. -On Panamaxes very few fixtures have been reported, especially in the Far East due to local holidays. Korea Line has fixed M/V Suka 64,900 dwt, built 1989, delivery end Sept. China redelivery S. Korea at USD 4,250 daily. -Handies are still at low figures with M/V Anangel Success 41,500 dwt, built 1984, been fixed by Oldendorff for an Atlantic round trip at USD 5,750 daily and USD 75,000 ballast bonus. -On Capers, Cosbulk has fixed M/V Cape Cathay 152,042 dwt, built 1993, delivery Taiwan end Sept. trip via Australia redelivery China at USD 9,395 daily. -On Panamax in Far East World Link has fixed M/V Giovanni Bottiglieri 75,265 dwt, built 1995, delivery Australia end Sept.-beg. Oct. redelivery China at USD 6,300 daily and USD 75,000 ballast bonus. -In Atlantic Grant has fixed M/V Wadi Alarab 64,124 dwt, built 1995, delivery end Sept. Turkey for 2 legs trip via Black Sea redelivery UKC/Med. at USD 6,650 daily. -On grain cargoes Aston has fixed M/V Lady Wind for 15,000 tons of cargo loading end Sept. Russia discharging West Coast Italy at USD 15.00 per ton with 2,000 tons load and 3,000 tons discharge. -On coal cargoes Enron for 150,000 tons of cargo loading end Sept. Colombia discharging Rotterdam has fixed M/V Vasco da Gama at USD 3.75 per ton with 50,000 tons load and 30,000 tons discharge.
