The Greek bourse staged an impressive rebound yesterday in December’s first session, wiping out all losses it had incurred last week. Investment interest spread across the board, with mid-caps and small-caps also posting major gains. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index bounced back to 2,425.09 points yesterday, growing by a considerable 7.15 percent from Monday’s close at 2,263.27 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index gained 8.29 percent to end up at 1,276 points. Banks led the rise on the bourse, boosted by the favorable news about Dubai’s debt settlement, which helped all international markets post gains yesterday. The bank index rose by no less than 9.85 percent, beaten only by technology (up 15.90 percent) and construction (11.98 percent). Turnover amounted to 301.1 million euros.
