Folli-Follie’s aromatic phone being sniffed out in Japan
Jewelry group Folli-Follie said yesterday it has received 200,000 orders in Japan for its new perfumed mobile phone, produced in collaboration with Fujitsu. The Greek company said demand for the new phones hit 200,000 units even before its market launch and that sales for the innovative phone had reached about 17,000 a few days after being placed on store shelves. «An aromatic chip placed on the back of the Docomo Style Series F-02B mobile phone gives the user the ability to add their favorite perfume, making the phone more personal,» the company said in a statement. Foli-Follie, which is present in 25 countries, did not say what this could mean in revenues. The phone will be available at 2,000 sales points in the Asian country, which contributes 13 percent to group sales.
