Greek stocks end in the red

Greek stocks ended yesterday marginally in the red, as they failed to track moderate gains on major European bourses in thin holiday trade. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index slipped 0.25 percent to 2,207.94 points, ending with gains of 1.82 percent for the week. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index firmed 0.03 percent to 1,136.10 points. Hellenic Postbank dipped 2.63 percent to 4.44 euros, while ATEbank retreated 2.99 percent to 1.95 euros. Coca-Cola Hellenic also underperformed, shedding 4.50 percent to 15.90 euros. Turnover eased to 129.7 million euros from 198 million on the previous session. The Athens stock and derivatives exchanges will be closed today and tomorrow due to the Christmas break.
