Stocks test 1,900 pt mark in slide

Greek stocks fell 1.77 percent with blue chips showing sizable losses as the market bounced against the 1,900-point support mark. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index ended at 1,922.69 points after dipping to a session low of 1,902 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index gave up 2.40 percent to end at 956.11 points. National Bank dipped 3.49 percent to 14.10 euros and power company PPC lost 5.33 percent to close at 11.36 euros. OTE telecom also underperformed, dropping 5.81 percent to 8.76 euros. Among the winners were betting company OPAP, which gained 0.99 percent to 15.30 euros, and Coca-Cola Hellenic, which rose 3.70 percent to 17.94 euros. Turnover reached 158 million euros from 162 million in the previous session.
