Bank employees walk off the job today

The Greek Federation of Bank Employees’ Unions (OTOE) called yesterday for a 24-hour strike today in protest of the death of the three Marfin Egnatia Bank employees in central Athens during yesterday’s riots, that also saw numerous attacks on other branches in various cities across the country. OTOE blamed the tragic incident on government policies in a statement: «This is the terrible consequence of the measures against the people, which have provoked the people’s wrath and the protest of hundreds of thousands of employees.»
