The General Confederation of Greek Labor (GSEE) and the Civil Servants’ Union ADEDY, including the Communist-affiliated PAME trade union, are staging a 24-hour strike in protest against the government’s new social security bill. Protesters will gather at 11 a.m. at the Pedion tou Areos park, while a little earlier, at 10 a.m., PAME will stage a protest rally in Omonia Square. The Greek Journalists’ Union (ESIEA) will be participating in the 24-hour general strike.
