Orascom, Qatar Holding eye land deals

A building owned by the Hellenic Public Real Estate Corporation (KED)being completed in Piraeus. According to Sunday’s Kathimerini, Orascom and Qatar Holding are interested in investing 2 billion euros in state real estate property by leasing it for 30 to 50 years. Orascom, controlled by Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris, and Qatar Holding, an investment fund that purchased London’s Harrods in May, are eyeing property investments in environmentally friendly energy and tourism. Both companies have requested information from state authorities over the proposals.
