Improving energy ties…
Environment, Energy and Climate Change Minister Tina Birbili, seen here in a file photo, met with Turkish Energy and Natural Resources Minister Taner Yildiz in Ankara yesterday. The two spoke about improving energy ties between their two countries and the Turkey-Greece-Italy natural gas interconnection, which is seen boosting energy stability in the region. On Saturday, the Hellenic Transmission System Operator (DESMIE) said that a high-voltage electricity connection hooking up Greece with Bulgaria and Turkey had started operating on a test basis for the next 12 months.
