Small, regional airports, such as this one on the Aegean island of Karpathos, could see more activity through joint funding projects by companies that aim to bolster tourism, said Bank of Greece Governor Giorgos Provopoulos yesterday at a conference by the Association of Greek Tourism Enterprises (SETE). He added that since national funding for tourism promotion will decline in the coming years, professionals should work together toward improving infrastructure, extending the tourism season and boosting arrivals.
