The Piraeus Port Authority…

The Piraeus Port Authority (OLP) decided yesterday to conduct an international tender for the sale and removal of the vessels of defunct coastal shipping company GA Ferries from the country’s main port. The tender concerns seven ships, well known to Aegean ferry passengers in previous years. These are the Dimitroula, Anthi-Marina, Romilda, Milena, Marina, Rodanthi and Daliana. Prices range from 957,000 euros (each for the Milena and Daliana) to 2.1 million euros (for the Anthi-Marina). ‘These ships sit abandoned in the main port and are creating problems in the operation of coastal shipping,’ said OLP head Giorgos Anomeritis.
