Thessaloniki exhibition remembers Europe at war

Anastasia Vogiatzi, a 77-year-old retired kindergarten teacher, is seen standing in front of a photograph showing her as a child next to a German officer during World War II, on Wednesday. The photograph is part of an exhibition currently on at Thessaloniki’s Ioannis Vellidis Center titled ‘I Don’t Forget! One Image Is Worth a Thousand Words,’ depicting scenes from several European cities in the period between 1940 and 1944. Vogiatzi met President Prokopis Pavlopoulos, who toured the exhibition on Wednesday. [Nikos Arvanitis/ANA-MPA]
