Firefighters battling blaze in Crete

About 100 firefighters and 29 fire engines aided by two helicopters were on Wednesday battling a wildfire in the area of Asites, in Iraklio, Crete.
The wildfire has been burning since Tuesday evening through mixed vegetation.
Overnight the fire was fanned by strong winds that were changing direction, occasionally pushing the flames closer to populated areas, according to the command center.
