Samaria Gorge closed on Thursday due to heat wave

Samaria Gorge, one of Crete’s major natural tourist attractions, will be closed on Thursday due to the very high temperatures expected on the island, the Chania forestry directorate announced on Wednesday.

The directorate warned that if the high temperatures continue on Friday, then the gorge will remain closed to visitors.
