Convicted robber escapes from Nikaia Hospital

A 21-year-old convicted robber escaped on Friday morning from the General State Hospital of Nikaia, a suburb of Piraeus.

The young convict, who was serving his sentence in the Avlona juvenile detention facility, had been taken to the hospital to undergo a medical examination. During his visit to the hospital, he evaded his police escort and escaped.

The Hellenic Police have launched a manhunt to locate and arrest the escapee.
