Man hit with gun butt in Thessaloniki convenience store dies

An employee at a convenience store in the northern city of Thessaloniki died on Saturday after an attack during an armed robbery early in the morning.
The 44-year-old was hit on the head with the butt of a gun by the suspect who entered the store on Grigoriou Lambraki Street at about 4 a.m. The victim was treated in hospital for head injuries but eventually died.
A police investigation is underway.
