Customs find heroin stash in banana cargo
Customs officials foiled an attempt to smuggle 35 kilograms of heroin hidden in a shipment of bananas into the country, the Independent Public Revenue Authority announced on Friday.
The drugs, contained in 30 packages, were detected using an x-ray machine.
The banana cargo originated in Equador and was destined for Thessaloniki.
A prosecutor has taken over the case. [AMNA]
