Soldiers carry caskets containing the bones of eight Greek officers and NCOs killed in fighting with Turkish invasion forces in Cyprus in 1974, during a ceremony at the Defense Ministry in Athens yesterday. The remains, which were recently identified by DNA testing, had lain in unmarked Nicosia graves for the past 28 years. After being flown to Athens yesterday, they were handed to the fallen fighters’ next of kin.
